Life is not always kind and it’s not always fair, unfortunately we can all be sure of that.
And another thing I’m fairly sure about, is that people frequently don’t take out sufficient insurance to protect their income in case life is unkind or unfair.
Insurance has had a pretty bad press of late but not all insurance is equal.
Income Protection Insurance will (in the event of you being unable to work due to illness, injury or disability) pay you a proportion of your monthly income. It will enable you to cover those crucial bills including your mortgage.
You can also take out something called Critical Illness Cover. This pays out a tax free lump sum in the event of a critical illness such as heart attack, stroke and cancer which could be used to repay the mortgage if you are ever ill.
Policies prices vary, as do terms. Make sure you find one that works for you and your family then set up the policy…..
It’s the one policy that you’ll never want to claim on.
