Achieving the dream
Owning a home (and usually having a mortgage) is still considered by many to be the pinnacle of security. Somewhere safe for you and your family to live and grow or something to invest in that will eventually return your investment when you need it most.
For one of our clients this was looking like an impossible dream. She’s given us her permission to share her story to demonstrate that there are many ways to achieve the dream.

Lorraine and her partner had been out of the property market for a few years and several things were going against them. They’d amassed quite a lot of debt during a period of maternity leave, and Lorraine was the only one eligible to go on the mortgage. To complicate things further they were planning to pool resources with Lorraine’s Mum who was coming to live with them. But, as she tells us, “The people at the office weren’t judgemental or patronising about our finances or circumstances, just enormously encouraging.”

Getting a mortgage approved can be an overwhelming experience, particularly as finances tend to be scrutinised more thoroughly nowadays.
